Overview

The AgiBot X1 is an open-source bipedal humanoid from AgiBot of China, created to give researchers and educators an accessible platform for embodied AI. Standing 1.3 m and weighing 33 kg, it is deliberately compact and modular so labs can experiment with locomotion and manipulation without industrial overhead.

It offers 34 degrees of freedom powered by proprietary PowerFlow R-series actuators, modular high-precision servo motors that communicate over CAN bus and are firmware-configurable. Joint encoders and sensors integrated within the actuators provide precise position and torque sensing for stable, well-controlled motion. The open-source AimRT middleware, a high-performance ROS2-compatible real-time communication framework published on GitHub, together with the REF-CLI configuration and diagnostic tools, gives developers deep access to the platform, all within a roughly 120-minute runtime.

As a research-oriented bipedal humanoid robot, the X1 suits education, entertainment and research, including locomotion development and light manipulation.

Nexon System supports the AgiBot X1 across Southeast Asia for universities and R&D teams, providing commissioning, SDK onboarding, custom task development and technical support. Talk to Nexon to set up a research deployment.
