Atlas 2024

Atlas 2024 is Boston Dynamics' first fully electric humanoid for industrial automation, supported across Southeast Asia by Nexon System for R&D deployment, safety integration and line programming.

Last updated: 19 May 2026

Overview

Revealed in April 2024, Atlas 2024 marked Boston Dynamics' shift from its famous hydraulic research machine to a commercially deployable electric humanoid. Engineered in the United States, it stands 1.9 m and weighs around 90 kg, carrying an IP67 rating that suits it to real factory floors rather than the lab alone.

Its 56 degrees of freedom are powered entirely by high-torque electric actuators with 360-degree continuous-rotation joints, housed in a 3D-printed titanium and aluminium frame. The robot manages a 50 kg instantaneous or 30 kg sustained payload and runs roughly four hours with autonomous battery swapping. A sensor suite of 360-degree cameras, LiDAR, depth and tactile fingertip sensors feeds NVIDIA Isaac GR00T and Google DeepMind Gemini Robotics AI plus Large Behavior Models on Jetson Thor compute, all coordinated through the Orbit fleet platform.

As a humanoid robot aimed at enterprise automation, it targets material handling, machine tending, automotive assembly, order fulfilment and industrial inspection.

Nexon System supports Boston Dynamics Atlas 2024 across Southeast Asia for research and pilot deployments, providing safety integration, task programming, and integration with your automation and inspection systems, plus training and support. Contact Nexon to explore an R&D rollout.
