BabyAlpha A2

BabyAlpha A2 is an AI-powered companion quadruped from WEILAN in China. About 0.53 metres tall and 8.8 kg, it is designed as a lifelike robotic pet for the home, blending expressive movement with genuine smart-home security capabilities.

The WEILAN BabyAlpha A2 is brought to life by biomimetic actuators capable of 40 realistic movements, giving it convincing pet-like behaviour. It navigates indoors using dedicated navigation sensors, motion detectors and obstacle-avoidance sensors, while a built-in camera supports video calls and environment monitoring. Its open-source software is powered by a GPT-4o AI engine for voice and interaction, with autonomous indoor navigation and a mobile app for remote control and monitoring, and it runs for around 360 minutes per charge.

WEILAN targets education, entertainment, security patrols and corporate events, where the A2 acts as a family companion, an interactive exhibition attraction and an autonomous home patrol that can watch over spaces and stream video when owners are away.
