DIABLO is a self-balancing wheeled-bipedal robot from Direct Drive Tech in Hong Kong. About 0.49 metres tall and 22.9 kg, it dynamically balances on two wheeled legs, offering an agile, compact platform for inspection, logistics and research work.
The Direct Drive Tech DIABLO is powered by six M1502D direct-drive motors that provide six degrees of freedom with high torque and precision, supporting three distinct movement modes. It can carry a substantial 80 kg payload and runs for up to 240 minutes per charge. Its sensor loadout is flexible, supporting integration of high-resolution cameras, 3D perception systems, LiDAR and obstacle-detection modules as add-ons. The open ROS 2-compatible software stack, open SDK and documentation enable secondary development and customisable control algorithms.
Direct Drive Tech targets surveillance, security patrols, inspections, logistics and research, where DIABLO's balance, heavy payload and long runtime let it transport loads, patrol facilities and serve as a flexible development base. Its high payload sets this inspection robot apart from lighter self-balancing designs, allowing it to carry substantial sensor packages or cargo while remaining agile in tight spaces.
Nexon System deploys DIABLO across Southeast Asia, handling commissioning, route and task programming, sensor and payload integration, connection to your monitoring or logistics systems, and operator training with ongoing support. We help you select and mount payloads, configure autonomous routes and integrate the platform into your existing operations. Talk to Nexon to scope a DIABLO deployment.
