The EngineAI SE 01 is a life-size bipedal humanoid from EngineAI, aimed at home assistance, research and education, and commissioned and integrated throughout Southeast Asia by Nexon System.
Last updated: 09 Jun 2025
The EngineAI SE 01 is a 1.7 m, 55 kg bipedal humanoid built by EngineAI of China. Designed around a natural, human-like gait, it targets developers, laboratories and forward-looking households that want a capable full-size platform to build applications on rather than a fixed-function appliance.
The machine is driven by EngineAI's own harmonic joint modules, which deliver smooth torque control up to 330 Nm per joint for movement that is both powerful and precisely controlled. For perception it combines an Intel RealSense D435 depth camera, a 360-degree LiDAR and six HD cameras to map its surroundings in 3D, avoid obstacles and manipulate objects. Control software fuses these sensors and applies reinforcement and imitation learning within a modular architecture that developers can extend, and the onboard battery supports about 120 minutes of operation per charge.
As a research-grade humanoid robot, the SE 01 fits home-assistance experiments, university and corporate R&D, and STEM education where students study locomotion, perception and AI-driven control on a realistic full-scale body. Its lifelike walking also makes it effective for demonstrations, exhibitions and technology showcases.
Nexon System brings the EngineAI SE 01 to research groups and institutions across Southeast Asia, providing commissioning, SDK onboarding, custom behaviour and task programming, and integration with existing lab tooling, simulation environments and data pipelines. Every deployment is backed by hands-on operator training and responsive local support, so teams can move quickly from unboxing to original work. Talk to Nexon to plan a deployment.
