XPeng's IRON applies the automaker's investments in AI compute and autonomous systems to a highly articulated humanoid, positioning it for mass production and real deployment. At 1.73 m and about 70 kg, IRON is notable for an exceptionally high 82 degrees of freedom, giving it a wide, fluid range of human-like motion.

The platform is built around XPeng's own technology stack. IRON runs on the proprietary Tianji AIOS, powered by XPeng's Turing AI chip, integrating computing, perception and control in a single automotive-derived architecture. Tactile sensors in the hands, multiple vision sensors and advanced sensor fusion give it the feedback needed for coordinated manipulation and safe operation, and the platform is being engineered for volume manufacturing rather than limited research runs.
