Overview

The Kondo KHR-3 is a 0.4 m, 1.5 kg desktop humanoid kit from Kondo Kagaku of Japan, a long-standing favourite for hobby robotics, education and competitions. Its compact, durable build makes it easy to assemble, program, modify and put to work on a tabletop, lowering the barrier to hands-on humanoid robotics.

The robot has 22 degrees of freedom powered by KRS-2555HV servos, which offer a 270-degree operating angle, 14 kgf·cm of torque, a speed of 0.14 s per 60 degrees at 11.1 V, metallic gears and ICS 3.0 communication. An RCB-4HV microcontroller board coordinates the servos, and the Heart to Heart software provides programming and control, with compatibility for various third-party robotics tools. Optional gyroscopes, accelerometers and other sensors can be added through extension ports to expand its capabilities.

As a hands-on educational humanoid robot, the KHR-3 suits STEM education, university research demonstrations and robot competitions. Learners assemble, program and tune a real walking machine, building practical intuition about servos, kinematics and motion control that transfers to larger platforms.

Nexon System supplies the Kondo KHR-3 to schools, universities and clubs across Southeast Asia, providing kit setup, programming guidance, and integration with existing robotics curricula and competition formats. Every rollout includes instructor training and ongoing support, so educators can run engaging, repeatable lessons and prepare teams for contests. Talk to Nexon to equip a robotics program.
