Overview

Meka M1 is a mobile manipulator from Meka Robotics in the USA, roughly 1.6 m tall and weighing about 165 kg. Built for safe interaction with people, this humanoid robot combines compliant arms and dexterous hands on an omnidirectional base for close-quarters research and collaboration.

Every joint uses series elastic actuators that provide torque control and mechanical compliance, so the robot can manipulate objects safely and precisely near humans. High-resolution and 3D cameras sit in the head, joint torque and angle sensors track motion, and optional sensor suites extend perception. It runs Ubuntu Linux with ROS middleware and RTAI real-time extensions, driven by the Meka M3 software stack with kinematics and dynamics support.

That compliant, human-safe design makes it a favorite for human-robot collaboration research and advanced robotics education, where teams study manipulation, control and safe physical interaction. Its standard ROS foundation lets researchers reuse existing tools and share reproducible experiments across labs.

Nexon System deploys the Meka Robotics M1 for labs and universities across Southeast Asia, delivering commissioning, controller and task programming, and integration with your ROS-based research toolchain. We provide training and dependable support so your platform stays available for teaching and experimentation. Talk to Nexon to set up a collaboration research platform.
