Pepper by SoftBank Robotics is a 1.2 m social robot with emotion recognition, multilingual speech and a chest touchscreen for retail, hospitality and education — deployed and integrated by Nexon System.
Last updated: 08 Jun 2025
Pepper by SoftBank Robotics is one of the most widely deployed social robots in the world, purpose-built to greet, inform and engage people in customer-facing settings. At 1.2 m and 28 kg with a wheeled base, Pepper is approachable, safe around crowds and instantly familiar to the public.
The platform is designed for interaction, not labour. Twin RGB cameras, a 3D depth sensor, four directional microphones and touch sensing let it perceive people and read basic emotion, while 20 degrees of freedom drive natural gestures. Running the NAOqi operating system with speech synthesis, speech-to-text and people-perception modules, and a chest touchscreen for visual content, Pepper works a full day on its roughly 12-hour battery. As a proven social robot, it reliably handles reception, guidance and promotion.
Pepper fits retail, hospitality, education, healthcare and research — anywhere a friendly robot host adds service capacity and novelty.
Nexon System deploys Pepper for retailers, hotels and institutions across Southeast Asia, including dialogue and content programming, multilingual setup, integration with your CRM or information systems, and ongoing support. To add an interactive greeter, ask Nexon about a Pepper deployment.
