Raven B (RQ-11B)

Made in the USA by AeroVironment, the Raven B (RQ-11B) is a lightweight, hand-launched tactical unmanned aircraft weighing just 2.2 kg. As one of the most widely fielded small UAS in the world, it gives small units organic aerial reconnaissance on demand, launched by hand and recovered without any runway or launcher.

The Raven carries the Mantis i45 sensor supporting EO and IR imaging with an enhanced laser illuminator for low-light work, and navigates using GPS/INS for reliable positioning. Brushless electric motors provide quiet propulsion, the open-architecture Tomahawk ground control system directs it, and endurance runs about 75 minutes for useful time over an objective.

As a hand-launched reconnaissance drone, the RQ-11B supports surveillance, reconnaissance, defence and security patrols. It delivers close-in, day-and-night ISR for dismounted forces and patrols, providing an over-the-hill view that improves situational awareness and safety without waiting on higher-level assets.
