The ROBAN is a 0.69 m, 6.5 kg desktop-scale humanoid from Leju Robotics of China, created to make robotics and AI learning hands-on and approachable. Its light, sturdy body invites students and hobbyists to experiment with walking, motion and programming without the cost or complexity of a large machine.
The robot carries 22 degrees of freedom driven by precise electric actuators, giving it smooth, human-like joint movement and stable locomotion, with additional sensors that keep it balanced and responsive to its surroundings. Programming is done through a dedicated mobile app or in Python, making it suitable for beginners and advanced learners alike, and interactive voice modules run on onboard microcontrollers. A battery runtime of about 120 minutes supports classroom-length sessions between charges.
As an educational humanoid robot, the ROBAN is ideal for teaching robotics fundamentals, university research demonstrations and entertainment routines such as programmed dances and gestures.
