TALOS

TALOS by PAL Robotics is a 1.75 m Spanish humanoid robot with 32 DoF and torque-controlled joints for manufacturing and research, deployed and integrated across Southeast Asia by Nexon System.

Overview

TALOS is a full-size research humanoid from Spain's PAL Robotics, a 1.75 m, 95 kg torque-controlled biped built for dynamic walking and demanding manipulation studies. Its torque-controlled architecture makes it a serious platform for research into balance, compliance and whole-body control.

It provides 32 degrees of freedom via 32 high-torque brushless DC motors with integrated torque sensors in nearly all joints, plus four 6-axis force/torque sensors in the ankles and wrists, an RGB-D camera and an inertial unit for perception and balance. Its software stack runs Ubuntu LTS with Linux RT Preempt, ROS LTS middleware, the OROCOS real-time control framework and Gazebo simulation, and with around 180 minutes of runtime it is a capable research-grade humanoid robot that supports the full loop from simulation to hardware.

It is aimed at manufacturing, research, logistics and corporate events and exhibitions, where compliant, powerful, torque-controlled motion is required for advanced experiments or demonstrations. Its open stack lets teams push new controllers and behaviours onto real hardware.

Nexon System deploys the PAL Robotics humanoid across Southeast Asia. We provide commissioning, ROS and OROCOS integration, custom task and controller programming, and engineering training, all backed by regional support and spares. For research institutions we can align the platform to lab objectives. Talk to Nexon System to scope a TALOS project for your programme.
