Overview

Valkyrie is NASA's imposing research humanoid from the USA, standing about 1.9 m tall and weighing roughly 136 kg. Conceived for operation in hostile environments, this humanoid robot was designed to work where sending people is dangerous, costly or simply impractical.

It boasts an extraordinary 44 degrees of freedom, driven by high-torque, energy-efficient electric actuators that yield smooth, precise joints for dexterous manipulation and mobility. Its perception suite spans stereo cameras, LIDAR, inertial measurement units and force/torque sensors, feeding AI-driven perception and decision-making, real-time control and motion planning, plus a teleoperation interface with autonomy modules.

That capability set positions it for space-exploration research, disaster-response and hazardous-environment tasks, and advanced manufacturing studies, where autonomy and rugged dexterity are essential. Researchers use it to test whole-body control, tool manipulation and supervised autonomy on a proven, human-scale platform.

Nexon System supports the NASA Valkyrie platform for research institutions across Southeast Asia, providing commissioning, control and task programming, and integration with your lab, teleoperation and simulation systems. We add operator training and ongoing technical support so your team can push the boundaries of humanoid autonomy with confidence. Talk to Nexon to plan an advanced humanoid research program.
