Walker 2 is a full-size humanoid built by DroidUp in China. Standing about 1.7 metres yet weighing only around 30 kg, it is a notably lightweight machine designed for agile, energy-efficient movement across varied indoor and outdoor terrain where heavier robots would struggle.
What sets the DroidUp humanoid apart is its bionic tendon-driven actuation, controlled by distributed motors with dynamically adjustable joint stiffness for versatile locomotion, obstacle climbing and stable walking. It perceives its surroundings through six RGB cameras and an eight-microphone array for sound detection. Motion and decision-making rely on Model Predictive Control combined with reinforcement learning, delivering 6 TOPS of on-device compute backed by cloud processing, and it can operate for roughly 360 minutes on a charge.
DroidUp targets warehousing, inspections, manufacturing, retail and hospitality, where an adaptable bipedal form can move through human spaces, monitor assets and assist staff.
